What Are The Risks?

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said it best:

"We are a nation of immigrants built upon the rule of law. And so many legal immigrants have played by the rules when coming to this country and making a life for themselves and their families. We should not break faith with those who played by the rules, so I will not support amnesty. We respect the rule of law and those who made it here the right way, and are trying to make it here the right way, rather than reward those who came here the wrong way."

But the root of the problem is much deeper. 

Did you know that:

According to the Bureau of Justice, twenty-nine percent of the inmates in federal prisons are aliens.

 According to the House of Representatives, illegal aliens cost state and local governments more than $13,000,000,000.00 per year.

An alien comes into this country illegally at about the rate of one a  minute... that's 60 an hour... 1400 a day... and over 42,000 every month.

That's not a trickle -- that's a tidal wave. 

That's not a problem -- that's an epidemic.

And that's why America needs sound immigration policy and real border enforcement.

Let's Make Our Voices Heard Again

Last week we told you that your Blast Fax demands were having an effect.  Our elected leaders are hearing you loud and clear.

In fact Senator Sam Brownback -- who initially supported amnesty -- is now backing down.  Recently he went on the record saying, "America cannot wait for border security."

But he's not the only one.  More Republican Senators and even Democrat Senators like Barbara Boxer are showing signs of wavering.

We're making real progress...

But as we go into the home stretch, our elected leaders NEED to hear from YOU yet again!  This issue is simply too close to call.

Illegal Immigration Is A Deadly Serious Problem

Let me share some recent news headlines on the subject of illegal immigration with you.

And consider these figures:

During the 1990s, more than 1.3 million immigrants settled in the United States EACH YEAR! That's 13 million in a decade.

 In 2002, the foreign-born population in the U.S. totaled 33.1 million -- over 11% of the population.

The Center for Immigration Studies reports the following: "The annual arrival of 1.5 million legal and illegal immigrants, coupled with 750,000 annual births to immigrant women, is the determinate factor -- or three-fourths -- of all U.S. population growth."

Over 21% of people in this country don't speak the English language well, if at all.

 Federal law now requires that certain jurisdictions print Presidential ballots in languages such as Spanish, Tagalog, Chinese and Vietnamese.

The immigration problem in America affects every single one of us, every single day!

It forces YOU to pay higher taxes.  It forces YOU to pay more for all goods and services in this country. And worst of all, it threatens our national security and jeopardizes the safety of YOUR FAMILY.

If people like you and me don't speak up -- if we don't demand REAL immigration reform NOW -- the problem will rapidly spiral even more out of control than it is today.
