The state of the beleaguered economy is significantly impacting the bottom-line for U.S. manufacturers and retailers this holiday season. But that hasn’t stopped some special interest groups from using junk science to call for further government regulations that will unnecessarily make it even harder for those companies to do business.
The latest target? Bottled water.
Recently, an environmental pressure group sought to undermine confidence in the safety of the product by issuing a politically-motivated attack against bottled water.
“The Environmental Working Group issued a junk science ‘study’ suggesting bottled water contains dangerous substances and is no better than tap; yet their own data supports the opposite conclusions,” said Angela Logomasini, Ph.D., Director of Risk and Environmental Policy at the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI).
Recently, Dr. Logomasini joined CFIF’s Renee Giachino to discuss the attack on bottled water, how junk science and government regulators are eroding our freedoms, and a new campaign headed by CEI – EnjoyBottledWater.org.
