A "Modern" Family Lawsuit Print

Actress Sofia Vergara is being sued by her own embryos.

The female embryos, named "Emma" and "Isabella," have been the subject of a lawsuit in California for several years, with the Modern Family star's ex-fiancé, Nick Loeb, seeking custody of the embryos.

In a bizarre twist, a right-to-live lawsuit has now been filed in Louisiana.  According to news reports, that lawsuit was filed by plaintiff James Carbonnet who is listed as a "trustee" of a trust created for the benefit of the unborn girls. The plaintiff claims that since Emma and Isabella were never born, the two embryos were deprived of an inheritance from a trust created for them in Louisiana. Carbonnet asks that the embryos be given to Loeb so that they can be born and live off of the trust money.

Loeb spends his time between New York and Florida, but he has ties to Louisiana.
