Bush \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.abcnews.com\/george\/2009\/11\/bush-i-went-against-my-freemarket-instincts.html\" target=\"_blank\">went against (his) free-market instincts<\/a>\u201d when he approved the Wall Street bailout towards the end of his administration.\u00a0 Better late than never I suppose.<\/p>\n<p>After issuing his mea culpa, \u201cW\u201d had some words of wisdom for his successor:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And without mentioning President Obama by name the former President did have some rather pointed comments for the current Administration claiming that generally \u201chistory shows that the greater threat to prosperity is not too little government involvement, but too much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bush, who as President also signed off on massive aid to the auto industry, warned against a government takeover of the economy fearing it would eliminate free-market enterprise.\u00a0 \u201cAs the world recovers, we are going to face the temptation to replace the risk and reward model of the private sector with the blunt instruments of government spending and control.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Do as I say\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apparently, former president George W.
